Angus previously worked as Curator of Weapons in the Royal Armouries at the Tower of London, and as Chief Curator in the Mel Fisher Maritime Museum, in Key West. Before his museum career he worked as an underwater archaeologist, and wrote his Masters thesis on 16th century naval gunnery and tactics.
