Pokemon Card Buyback Program — Canada-Wide

Turn your Pokemon collection into cash. EA Collectibles operates one of Canada's most active buyback programs from our London, Ontario store.

What Is a Pokemon Card Buyback Program?

A buyback program is a standing offer from a card shop to purchase Pokemon cards from collectors at competitive market-based pricing. Unlike selling on eBay or Facebook Marketplace — where you list cards individually, wait for buyers, manage shipping, and handle disputes — a buyback program gives you a single point of sale for your entire collection with guaranteed pricing and fast payment.

EA Collectibles has operated a buyback program since our founding in 2020. We've purchased tens of thousands of individual Pokemon cards from collectors across Canada, ranging from single high-value chase cards to massive multi-thousand-card collections. Our buyback program is a core part of how we maintain one of Canada's largest Pokemon singles inventories — the cards we buy from collectors go directly back into our store for other collectors to purchase.

Buyback vs. Other Selling Options

If you're deciding how to sell your Pokemon cards, it helps to understand the trade-offs between different options. Here's an honest comparison:

Method Price You Get Speed Effort Risk
EA Buyback 60–75% market 5–7 days total Low — one submission None — guaranteed offer
eBay / TCGplayer 80–90% market Days to weeks per card High — individual listings Returns, disputes, fees
Facebook Groups 70–85% market Varies widely Medium — posts, negotiations Scams, no protection
Local Kijiji / FB Marketplace 60–80% market Days to months Medium — meetups required No-shows, lowballers

The right option depends on your priorities. If you want maximum dollar value and don't mind the effort, selling individual high-value cards on eBay makes sense. But if you want your entire collection handled in one transaction with guaranteed payment and zero hassle, our buyback program is designed exactly for that.

Store Credit Bonus: Prefer to put the value toward new cards? We offer a 10% bonus on buyback quotes when you take store credit instead of cash. This is a great option if you're looking to upgrade your collection — sell cards you no longer want and put the boosted credit toward chase cards, sealed product, or Japanese imports.

What Cards Are Most In-Demand?

While we buy virtually all Pokemon cards, certain categories command the strongest buyback prices because of their resale demand:

  • Modern Chase Cards: Special Art Rares (SAR), Illustration Rares (IR), and Hyper Rares from Scarlet & Violet sets are in constant demand. Cards featuring popular Pokemon like Charizard, Pikachu, Mewtwo, and Eevee evolutions command the strongest premiums.
  • Vintage Holos: Base Set, Jungle, Fossil, and Team Rocket holos remain among the most sought-after Pokemon cards globally. Even in played condition, vintage holos hold significant value.
  • Graded Cards: PSA 9 and PSA 10 graded cards — especially vintage — are in high demand. We buy graded cards at competitive rates that reflect their authenticated condition and market premium.
  • Sealed Product: Unopened booster boxes, ETBs, and vintage sealed packs are always in demand. Sealed product from out-of-print sets appreciates consistently and we pay accordingly.
  • Japanese Exclusives: Japanese promo cards, Art Rares, and sealed product that was never released in English carry unique value in the Canadian market.

Buyback for Local Sellers in London, Ontario

If you're in London, Ontario or anywhere in southwestern Ontario — Kitchener, Waterloo, Hamilton, Guelph, Windsor, Sarnia, Stratford, or surrounding communities — you can bring your Pokemon cards directly to our store at 410 Third Street for in-person assessment and same-day payment.

In-person buybacks are the fastest way to sell. Walk in with your cards, we'll sort and price them while you wait (for reasonable-sized collections), and you leave with payment. No shipping, no waiting. For very large collections, we may ask you to leave them for 24–48 hours for thorough assessment, but we always aim to accommodate same-day service when possible.

Canada-Wide Remote Buyback

Not local to London? No problem. Our remote buyback process serves collectors in every province and territory. Here's how shipping works:

  • Collections under $300: Ship via Canada Post at standard rates. We can deduct shipping from your payout if preferred.
  • Collections $300+: We provide a prepaid Canada Post shipping label at no cost to you.
  • Insurance: For collections valued at $500+, we recommend adding shipping insurance. We can include this on prepaid labels for qualifying collections.
  • Packaging: Ship high-value singles in penny sleeves + toploaders. Bulk can ship in team bags or card boxes. Use rigid mailers or boxes — never envelopes without support.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Buyback Program

What's the minimum value to use the buyback program?
There's no hard minimum. However, for remote buybacks, the economics work best for collections worth $50 or more after factoring in shipping costs. For in-person sales at our London, Ontario store, there's truly no minimum — walk in with whatever you have.
How is the buyback price calculated?
We reference current market data from TCGplayer, eBay sold listings, and the broader Canadian secondary market. Our offers typically represent 60–75% of current market value for singles and sealed product, which is in line with industry-standard buylist rates. Larger collections may qualify for higher percentages.
Do you buy cards that aren't in perfect condition?
Yes. We buy cards in all conditions from Near Mint to Heavily Played. Condition affects price, but we still pay for played cards — especially if they're in-demand singles or vintage holos. Be honest about condition in your submission and we'll price accordingly.
What's the difference between cash and store credit payouts?
Cash payouts (via Interac e-Transfer) are at our standard buyback rate. Store credit payouts include a 10% bonus on top of the cash offer. Store credit can be used toward any purchase on eacollectibles.com including singles, sealed product, and accessories.
Can I sell other trading cards through the buyback program?
Yes. While this page focuses on Pokemon, we also buy Magic: The Gathering, One Piece TCG, and Yu-Gi-Oh cards through the same program. Contact us with details for a quote on any TCG products.
Is the buyback quote negotiable?
Our quotes are based on current market data and are generally firm. However, for very large collections or if you have specific information about a card's value that we may have missed, we're happy to discuss. Our goal is a fair transaction for both parties.
What happens if my cards don't match the description I submitted?
If the cards we receive are in significantly different condition than described, we'll contact you with a revised offer. You can accept the revised price or we'll return the cards at our expense. We never finalize a transaction without your agreement.
