Condition is most of what a card is worth. A Near Mint card and a Lightly Played copy of the same card can differ in price by half, and the damage that causes it is almost always avoidable.
Sleeves are the first line and the cheapest. Shuffling bare cards rounds the corners and scuffs the surface within a few games. For anything you play with, sleeve it.
Double-sleeving — a perfect-fit sleeve inside a standard outer — seals the card on all four sides and is standard practice for expensive competitive decks.
Toploaders and one-touch holders are for cards that are not being played: singles you are selling, shipping, or holding. Match the point rating to the card thickness so it cannot rattle.
Binders are for collections. Use side-loading pages so nothing slides out, and avoid old ring binders, which dent the inner edge of cards over time.
Standard (roughly 66 x 91mm) fits Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh in English print, Riftbound, Flesh and Blood and most modern games.
Japanese / small (roughly 59 x 86mm) fits Japanese-print Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh, and Cardfight Vanguard.
If you are double-sleeving, the inner perfect-fit sleeve must match the card size and the outer sleeve must be standard — that is the whole point of the combination.

Usually, yes. We have distributor access across the major accessory brands and can quote you in Canadian dollars, normally within a business day. Ask us, or see how special orders work.
Do you keep accessories in the shop?
Yes — we carry the common sleeve, toploader and deck box lines on the shelf at 410 Third Street. The online catalogue is broader than what is physically out at any one time.

Which sleeves do you recommend?
For play, a matte sleeve shuffles better and reflects less light under tournament lighting. For storage and display, gloss or perfect-fit. Come in and we will show you the difference — it is easier to feel than to describe.
