Two Dragon Ball Card Games
Worth knowing before you buy, because the names are close enough to cause mix-ups.
The Dragon Ball Super Card Game launched in 2017 and built up a deep card pool over dozens of sets, with a combat system based on committing energy and attacking through your opponent's board.
Dragon Ball Super Card Game Fusion World arrived in 2024 as a separate, deliberately simpler game with its own card pool and its own set numbering (the FB codes). Fusion World cards are not interchangeable with the original game.
If you are buying for someone else, check which of the two they play. It is the single most common mistake with this licence.
Understanding Dragon Ball Products
Booster boxes are the standard sealed unit — the most economical way to open a set and build a card pool.
Starter decks are preconstructed and playable out of the box.
Collection and premium boxes bundle packs with exclusive promo cards and accessories, and usually have short print windows.
